Rona Fraser
Rona has over 20 years of experience in the cultural and non-profit sector. In 2001 she co-founded Event Energy Inc., which specializes in independent development work for non-profits and the arts.
While Rona has a broad range of Industry knowledge, she specializes in Fund Development and Event Management aspects. A producer and promoter of world-class events including The Edmonton Entrepreneur Show, Alberta Music Awards and the Edmonton Mayor’s Celebration for the Arts.
Avenue Magazine Top 40 under 40 Award recipient, Rona has raised millions of dollars for worthwhile causes including The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society and Ronald McDonald House. Currently she volunteers as a Director on the board for John Cameron Changing Lives Foundation and produces the annual Daddy Daughter Ball, which has raised thousands for children in need. Rona has been involved with the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts since its inception in 2003, and manages all their development aspects including community engagement, marketing and fund development.
Rona is a graduate of Business Marketing from NAIT and Arts and Cultural Management from MacEwan University.
Brett Fraser
Brett Fraser has nearly 30 years of not for profit direct work experience through various services of the Cultural Industry.
Brett is currently a Partner at Event Energy Inc, a professional corporation based in Edmonton that specializes in not for profit arts, cultural and entertainment development projects. Previously Brett was Executive Director of the Alberta Jubilee Auditoria Society for over 5 years, a not for profit association managing the Alberta theatres on behalf of the province . The Jubilee Auditoria are world-class cultural pillars; developing and delivering arts and cultural experiences to the communities they serve. Prior to this was the Venue Director for Rexall Place Arena in Edmonton. Brett oversaw all aspects of the arena including the NHL, WHL, NLL, Brier and all major concert events. Brett had held a senior leadership role with Rexall Place and Northlands Park for over 13 years.
Brett’s Cultural Industry leadership has included developmental roles in policy formation, contract negotiations, stakeholder development, safety/risk management and strategic planning. Vital roles on boards and committees including the JUNOS, Alberta Music, and the Western Canadian Music Association. His hands on experience combined with years of teaching facility management and performing arts management, at MacEwan University solidify Brett as an industry specialist and leader.
Brett holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management, Honours in Facility Management Designation with International Alliance of Venue Managers, certification in Governance from the University Of Alberta School Of Business.
